MADMOG Branch Avenue 2012

As you are probably aware MADMOG has won the Branch Avenue Award at the National Rally for the last 3 years running.

Due to increasing commitments arranging other events at this years National Rally I am offering up my position of Branch Avenue stand co-ordinator for this year. Can I ask members wishing to take up this fun but demanding role to contact me as soon as possible.

The offer to join in with Branch Avenue is of course open to everyone; we do, however need a figurehead to co-ordinate the event in order to make it a success. Obviously it is not a necessity to have a stand at the National Rally and therefore if there is not sufficient interest MADMOG will be absent from this years Branch Avenue……….at least it gives someone else a fighting chance of winning

Looking forward to seeing you all at next Tuesdays meeting. We meet at 7pm and leave the Hutt on a road run to The Robin Hood at Edwinstowe for homemade chip cobs (£2.60 per head)

Saint Mary’s School in Derby are holding their spring fair on the Saturday 19th May and have asked if we could support them with exhibiting some of our Morris Minors. East Mids Cheesy win!

Another fun night with the Great Cheese Co. at MADMOG last night, thanks to Janice (and Keith).

East Mids members Roger and Hilary Shipley scored the most and are heartily congratulated, the quiz was a tricky one!

We’ll meet at The Hutt as usual for a departure at 7.30 to our host venue at The Robin Hood in Edwinstowe (opposite South Forest)

On arrival at the Robin there will be chip cobs available at a small cost for those who want them.

MADMOG COBWEB RALLY

April 22^nd FBHVC National Drive It Day is an outing with East Midlands Branch to Heage Windmill for our Cobweb Rally.

Meet at the windmill at 11am Moggie parking lot will be set aside on the day. No planned ‘convoy’ but if some of you wish to go together organise it amongst yourselves! Windmill tours available.

The mill is located off Chesterfield Road just to then north of the Derbyshire village of Heage. The entrance road is opposite the Bowmer and Kirkland offices. Car parking is available free on site.  Post code is DE56 2BH. Full directions on the website http://www.heagewindmill.org.uk/?page_id=24

MADMOG Gillian wins East Mids Slot Car Race!

Roger Shipley from East Midlands Branch writes:

We had a very good night last Monday and the slot car racing was great.

The womens’ heats were between Lou ,Cris and Hilary (East Midlands) and Gillian (MADMOG), the outwright winner being Gillian from MADMOG in the final. Male Winner was Dave Edwards(East Midlands)

Our thanks go to Nick Sismey and Peter Barber of the Derby HO Slot Car Racing Club who supplied,set up and ran the race meeting for us.

And the winners are…. Gillian & David receive their trophies from Roger Shipley of East Mids Branch
