November Meeting

Hi everyone,

Our next meeting is Tuesday 8th November. It’s a show and tell night, so this is your chance to bring an unusual moggie related item to show others.

For this meeting only we are in the other car park, opposite end of the pub to usual. Our usual room is unavailable and so we are at the far left hand side of the pub as you go in from the main front entrance.

See you all there!
Regards
Paul

Help! Bonnet required

I am trying to find a bonnet in almond green for my Mog that had a fight with a marquee weight in the hurricane Katia. Would you happen to know of anyone with a spare?

Thank you in anticipation.

Your Chairman Writes….

Its been a fantastic summer and Rally season for MADMOG.

This years National saw our branch win Branch Avenue Best Stand for the 3rd year running. Our Annual Branch Rally at Rufford was a fantastic day, sun shone, the brass band played and a record number of cars attended.

We have also been busy attending other local branch rallies to promote inter-branch relations! We received a warm welcome from East Midlands Branch at Autokarna in June whilst Leicester branch hosted a great day out at Donnington Le Heath in August. We have also had a branch presence at Ecclesbourn Railway, Ruddington Transport Museum and Chatsworth to mention just a few!

On a personal level The East Midlands Regional Rally at Chatsworth in September saw my 1954 Series II RDV 461 having a go at Concours! Much thanks go to everyone that encouraged me to enter and also to those members who offered their time, support and spare parts to make the experience possible! With 679 points RDV 461 was a respectable first time entrant. Remember Concours is not an elite thing, its open to anyone wishing to have a go. The best part about it is that your car gets a professional assessment and you receive a copy of the points judging sheet. This is a most valuable document of detailed points to work on if you wish to get your car as good as possible. I am certainly going to have a go next rally season and see if I can improve my score, please join me, its great fun and would be fantastic to have other MADMOG cars in next years concours events!

As the rally season has all but finished we have the NEC Classic Car Show to look forward to 11th 12th and 13th November. RDV 461 will be appearing on the Club Stand so do come along and have a cuppa!

We are attending the Branch Liaison meeting in Lutterworth this Sunday (2/10/11) If you have any issues you wish us to bring to the attention of the national committee please send to me via email asap. paul.temple71@ntlworld.com

October branch meeting night is our Annual Quiz night. Hosted by Ray Newell it is usually a fun packed evening and very popular with people attending from branches across the area. Make sure you get there early, Tuesday 11th October 7pm.

See you all there!

Paul
